February brought The L☿rds of MisRule’s first-ever Leeds gig at The Fox & Newt — a proper milestone for us.

We were invited to play for the the launch of a new album by Captain Wilberforce, led by our old friend Si Bristoll.  Mike and I first met as members of Si's band over ten years ago, so it was wonderful to be there to support our musical alma mater.

Plunging further into the whole narrative symmetry thing, we were joined by Ben Stevens, the studio drummer on Mid Vice Crisis, who kindly stepped in for Harvey. Despite shaping so much of the EP’s sound and making the recording process such a pleasure, Ben had never actually played live with us before. Rehearsing and performing together at last felt like closing a very satisfying creative circle — and it was an absolute treat to share a stage with our old studio mate.
