Saving The World.  One Rock Opera At A Time.

“Rife with tales of Oscar Wilde-esque deviant ribaldry and bubbling-under delicious drama...recalls the majesty of band such as Queen and Zeppelin...oozes Deep Purple swagger with seething guitar-driven aggression.”

— Lorne Behrman, Village Voice / Guitar World

Q: Who Are The L☿rds Of MisRule?

A: Monsters, the pair of them.

What started as a humble solo project became something else entirely. Dan McGlade thought he was just making a record—but after receiving an Arts Council England grant for his debut solo EP Mid Vice Crisis, things began to… mutate.

As he brought in musicians for live shows, something unexpected happened. New ideas began to tumble in. Lightning flashed. A glorious, collaborative monster reared its head. And Dan realised the truth: this wasn’t a solo project anymore. This was a band. A fantastic, riotous, gloriously theatrical band.

At the creative core are Dan and guitarist Mike Ward—long-time friends and musical allies since their days in the Leeds band Captain Wilberforce. Their complementary skills and shared love of rock’n’roll have always threatened to boil over into something new. Mid Vice Crisis was the spark.

Together, they are The L☿rds Of MisRule: a band forged by accident, raised by art-rock wolves, and unleashed with little regard for the furniture.

After decades as the proverbial semi-pro - a reckoning came when Dan’s young daughter asked him what he did for a living. As he found himself struggling to explain his admin job to a clear-eyed toddler, he realised it was time for a change.

Four years and one voluntary redundancy later, Dan - now a composer for film and theatre - loudly rings in a new era with his debut solo EP, “Mid Vice Crisis”, described by Village Voice journalist Lorne Behrman as a "dramatic and mythical glam-rock offering…recalling the majesty of Queen, Deep Purple, Rush and Led Zeppelin”.

Mid Vice Crisis was is performed live by The Lords Of MisRule - a motley assortment of musical ne'er do wells brought together to showcase the EP...but who are now morphing with ghastly inevitably into a creative force in their own right.
