It’s great to be working with Year Six pupils at St Columba’s and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary Schools, Bradford, on their School Leaver’s Songs.
Local Drama Teacher and Writer Sian Willams and I have been meeting with small Year Six teaching bubbles each week via video conferencing, to explore their memories of Primary School and their hopes and fears about the changes ahead. This process is especially poignant under the current lockdown situation, with pupils already all too familiar with the experience of missing some of those closest to them.
We're extremely grateful to the tireless support we've received from the teaching staff throughout this three-week project. Hopefully, when it concludes the pupils will have found a degree of outlet for their current situation, and have a unique musical record of this developmental milestone.
